Product Description
This Mahakala statue was meticulously handcrafted by artists working with Lunzi Art. The entire statue is cast in fine copper and half plated with 24K gold. The statue was cast using the ancient lost wax casting method, and then the intricate patterns were hand-carved and polished.
The vibrant red and orange pigments used for the flaming behind the figure add a dramatic contrast to the gold.
The statue's face is wrathful, with three bulging eyes, a gaping red mouth, and sharp fangs, symbolizing his power to destroy obstacles and negative emotions. He wears a crown adorned with skulls, and a garland of severed heads, representing the conquest of the ego and the impermanence of life. He holds various implements in his hands, including a curved knife and a bowl.
This statue is not only a beautiful collectible artwork, but also a Dharma instrument to help practitioners advance.
