Product Description

This thangka features Manjushree, the Bodhisattva of Transcendent Wisdom, in a beautiful exercise of sacred art. Painted on quality cotton canvas using the traditional Himalayan thangka method, there is attention to detail in every aspect that is a tribute to time-worn artistry. The beaming face of Manjushree is decorated with radiant details in 24K gold, which also lightens his robes and the ornate halo of light behind him.

In an untroubled posture of authority, Manjushri is seated on a lotus throne and a moon disc. His right hand supports the sword of wisdom with fire, which represents his ability to sever ignorance and delusion. With his left hand, he carries a lotus stem, the ideal wisdom scripture. He is surrounded by two attendant figures in the form of the compassionate Avalokiteshvara and the wrathful protector Vajrapani. They constitute a trinity representing wisdom, compassion, and power.

This thangka is a pictorial gateway to the philosophy of Tibetan Buddhism. It is a meditation point as well as a valuable teaching tool. The peaceful but dynamic energy of the painting inspires a sense of inner perception and tranquility, aiding your path toward increased awareness. Keep this holy piece of tradition with you, a majestic portrait of wisdom and source of deep inspiration for your home.

CONSECRATION OF PRODUCT

For requests for consecrations/blessings, we can take the thangka to monasteries or Rinpoches from the nearby Boudha Stupa. We kindly ask you to offer $50 for the monasteries for blessings/consecration services.

Natural Colors in Thangka

All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.
