Product Description
Painted on cotton canvas using traditional Tibetan methods, this Thangka features actual 24K gold along with different contrasting colors of green, blue, red, white and brown. This interplay of colors in a Thangka reflects the balance of wisdom, compassion, and energy. At the center is Green Tara, Bodhisattva of compassion, seated in a royal ease position with the right foot resting on a lotus flower, and her left leg is tucked in. Her right hand rests on her right knee in the gesture of generosity, symbolizing her ability to grant wishes and give aid. Her left hand is raised to her heart in the gesture of teaching, holding the stem of a blue lotus (Utpala) flower that blooms beside her left shoulder. The lotus symbolizes purity and enlightenment.
