Product Description

This thangka presents "Mandala of a Thousand Buddhas: The Universal Palace of Awakening," painted on quality cotton canvas using the traditional Himalayan thangka technique. It represents the path to enlightenment illuminated by luminous detail and harmonic composition, each line and colour rendered with time-honoured perfection.

A glowing Buddha sits calmly in the centre of the mandala, surrounded by elaborate squares and concentric rings; his presence is the quiet point of cosmic unity. A galaxy of enlightened Buddhas and bodhisattvas surround him in perfect symmetry, their hands in mudras of protection, blessing, and instruction, looking relaxed. The faces of each figure are filled with knowledge and tranquilly, and they are all dressed in golden robes and have outlines on top. Additional Buddhas, each symbolising a direction and a dimension of enlightened consciousness, are housed in the four cardinal mandalas, which are positioned at the compass points. Multiple fortunate elements abound in the background, including heavenly guardians for spiritual protection, lotus blooms for purity, and whirling clouds for nirvana. The combination of earthy precious metals rich reds, and deep blues creates a transcendent and anchoring atmosphere that invites introspection and meditation.

In Tibetan Buddhism such mandalas are regarded as bridges to the divine, meditation aids, and visual representations of the cosmos and the mind. Allow this thangka to adorn your house or altar, bringing the eternal harmony of the universe and the blessings of a thousand Buddhas into your hallowed area. Bring a living example of spiritual legacy that has a profound connection to the soul's journey home.

The colors used in the thangka painting are sourced from minerals like lapis lazuli for blue, cinnabar for red, and malachite for green. These minerals are ground into fine powders and mixed with animal glue to form a vibrant medium.

Natural Colors in Thangka

All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.
