Shakyamuni Buddha Thangka
Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism and is regarded as the enlightened teacher who attained Nirvana and shared his wisdom to liberate others from suffering. Born in Lumbini (present-day Nepal) as a prince, he renounced his royal life in search of spiritual truth. After years of asceticism and meditation, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya. He then spent his life teaching the Dharma, emphasizing the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. His teachings form the foundation of Buddhism, inspiring millions worldwide. He is often depicted in serene meditation, with symbolic hand gestures (mudras) representing different aspects of his enlightenment and teachings.
