Product Description
This extraordinary Zachyi Lhamo Ghau Thangka Locket is dedicated to one of the most powerful and fearsome Wisdom Protectors in Tibetan Buddhism. Often depicted with blazing hair, piercing eyes, and a wrathful expression, Zachyi Lhamo (also known as Penden Lhamo or Shri Devi in some traditions) is the sole female Dharma Protector among the twelve Guardian Deities. She is a fierce manifestation of ultimate wisdom and compassion, sworn to protect the Dharma and its practitioners from all internal and external enemies, especially those that threaten spiritual progress.
Enclosed within a beautifully detailed and often embossed metal Ghau (portable shrine), this miniature Thangka allows you to carry her unwavering protection and swift action directly with you.
Potent Iconography & Symbolic Power
The imagery of Zachyi Lhamo in your locket is rich with meaning, conveying her powerful protective qualities:
-
Fierce Expression: Her wrathful face, often with a gaping mouth and protruding tongue, symbolizes her immediate and unyielding response to negativity and threats.
-
Three Eyes: Gazing into the past, present, and future, indicating her omniscient awareness and ability to perceive and counteract all dangers.
-
Fiery Hair/Halo: Represents her blazing wisdom that burns away ignorance and her active, wrathful energy that consumes all obstacles.
-
Attributes: Though not always fully visible in a locket, she typically holds implements like a sword (cutting through delusion) and a skullcup (transforming defilements), emphasizing her role in swiftly subduing negative forces.

CONSECRATION OF PRODUCT
For requests for consecrations/blessings, we can take the thangka to monasteries or Rinpoches from the nearby Boudha Stupa. We kindly ask you to offer $50 for the monasteries for blessings/consecration services.
Natural Colors in Thangka
All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.
Ghau Locket Thangka
A Ghau Thangka is a hand-painted, miniature Nepalese Buddhist scroll that is housed in an elaborate metal shrine. It is sometimes spelled Gau or Ghau. The living energy of enlightened deities, including Green Tara, Medicine Buddha, Mahakala, and Guru Rinpoche, is carried by this portable altar, which can be worn as a pendant or held near the heart. In contrast to regular jewellery, each Ghau Thangka is consecrated through ancient rabné (blessing) rituals by a qualified lama. The end effect is a talisman that, wherever you go, exudes healing, protection, and spiritual strength.
