Product Description
This striking Vajrapani Ghau Locket is dedicated to Vajrapani, the Bodhisattva who represents the power (shakti) of all Buddhas. Often depicted in a wrathful, dynamic form, Vajrapani is invoked to overcome spiritual obstacles, subdue negative forces, and cultivate the inner strength and determination needed to achieve enlightenment. He is a fierce protector of the Dharma and its practitioners.
Enclosed within a traditional, protective metal Ghau (portable shrine) casing, this hand-painted miniature Thangka captures Vajrapani's intense, powerful energy. Wearing this amulet serves as a constant reminder to harness one's inner power and cut through all forms of delusion and weakness.
Iconography of Strength and Subduing Obstacles
The sacred imagery of Vajrapani in your locket is rich with symbolic meaning, conveying his powerful protective and transformative qualities:
-
Blue Skin: Represents the unchangeable, adamantine nature of his enlightened mind and his ability to transmute anger into wisdom.
-
Flaming Hair/Aura: Symbolizes the intense, blazing energy of his wisdom that burns away ignorance and defilements.
-
Vajra (Thunderbolt Scepter): Held in his right hand, the Vajra is his primary attribute, symbolizing indestructible power and the unshakeable, piercing truth of the Dharma that cuts through all illusions.
-
Lasso (Noose): In his left hand (often held in wrathful mudra), he holds a lasso, representing his ability to bind and subdue all negative forces and obstacles, preventing them from harming practitioners.
-
Stepping on Foes: His dynamic posture, often trampling on prostrate figures, signifies his complete subjugation of evil and ignorance.

CONSECRATION OF PRODUCT
For requests for consecrations/blessings, we can take the thangka to monasteries or Rinpoches from the nearby Boudha Stupa. We kindly ask you to offer $50 for the monasteries for blessings/consecration services.
Natural Colors in Thangka
All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.
Ghau Locket Thangka
A Ghau Thangka is a hand-painted, miniature Nepalese Buddhist scroll that is housed in an elaborate metal shrine. It is sometimes spelled Gau or Ghau. The living energy of enlightened deities, including Green Tara, Medicine Buddha, Mahakala, and Guru Rinpoche, is carried by this portable altar, which can be worn as a pendant or held near the heart. In contrast to regular jewellery, each Ghau Thangka is consecrated through ancient rabné (blessing) rituals by a qualified lama. The end effect is a talisman that, wherever you go, exudes healing, protection, and spiritual strength.
