This statue of Manjushree was handcrafted by skilled craftsmen working with Lunzi Art depicts the Buddha, which symbolizes Prajna (wisdom). The statue is cast in a fine copper using the traditional lost wax method, then carefully hand-carved with intricate patterns, polished to a dazzling shine, and then finished with a meticulous mercury gold plating (also known as fire gilding), a traditional process.
The statue's facial expression is calm and serene, reflecting peace and clarity. The right hand is raised, wielding a flaming sword, symbolizing the sharp wisdom that can cut through ignorance, delusion and dualistic thinking. The left hand holds a lotus, which symbolizes purity. Manjushree wears a crown. His robe drapes gracefully, showing a celestial artistry.
The statue sits on a lotus seat in a meditative posture, with his robe cascading from his arms to the seat, elegant and dynamic, and well-made.
