Product Description
This beautiful Jambhala Ghau Locket is dedicated to the Yellow Jambhala (the central figure in the image), the most popular of the Five Wealth Deities in Tibetan Buddhism. He is not merely a god of money, but a compassionate Bodhisattva who grants both material security and spiritual abundance. His purpose is to eliminate poverty, allowing practitioners the freedom from worldly worry necessary to focus on their spiritual path.
Enclosed within a traditional, protective metal Ghau (portable shrine) casing, this vividly colored miniature Thangka serves as a constant, potent source of the deity's blessings. Wearing this amulet encourages the development of generosity—the key to unlocking true and lasting prosperity.
Iconography of Prosperity and Generosity
The imagery of Yellow Jambhala in your locket carries deep, powerful symbolism related to abundance:
-
Golden Yellow Skin: Symbolizes the wealth of spiritual qualities, precious resources, and the ripeness of the results of virtue.
-
Jewel-Spitting Mongoose: Held in his left arm, the mongoose (Nakula) is Jambhala's most famous attribute. It symbolizes his victory over the Nagas (serpent spirits who guard treasures) and his power to dispense vast quantities of wealth and wish-fulfilling jewels.
-
Citron Fruit/Jewel: Held in his right hand, symbolizing fertility, wealth, and abundance.
-
Plump Body and Ornate Jewels: Represents his status as the Lord of Treasures and the fullness of his blessings, which are both material and spiritual.

CONSECRATION OF PRODUCT
For requests for consecrations/blessings, we can take the thangka to monasteries or Rinpoches from the nearby Boudha Stupa. We kindly ask you to offer $50 for the monasteries for blessings/consecration services.
Natural Colors in Thangka
All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.
Ghau Locket Thangka
A Ghau Thangka is a hand-painted, miniature Nepalese Buddhist scroll that is housed in an elaborate metal shrine. It is sometimes spelled Gau or Ghau. The living energy of enlightened deities, including Green Tara, Medicine Buddha, Mahakala, and Guru Rinpoche, is carried by this portable altar, which can be worn as a pendant or held near the heart. In contrast to regular jewellery, each Ghau Thangka is consecrated through ancient rabné (blessing) rituals by a qualified lama. The end effect is a talisman that, wherever you go, exudes healing, protection, and spiritual strength.
